Searches of the Burial Database can be conducted by inputting the Last Name of the
person buried at Burr Oak. Refinements to the search can be made by adding the First
Name, Year of Death (within a 5 year range) and the Age at Death (within a 5 year
range).
A database search based on Last Name may result in a number of matches of burials
with the same last name, but different forms of your loved one’s first name. The
burial records for each person shown as a match will also show additional information,
such as Date of Death, and Age. Please select the correct match from the list.
Clicking on a match will show the information that will appear on a Printable Burial
Record. If there is also a corresponding match with a marker image, that image will
appear on the printable burial record.
Clicking on the Printable Burial Record button will produce an image with the following
information:
- Name of the section your loved one is buried in at the top of the page
- A Map of Burr Oak Cemetery
- At the bottom right of the page, the Burial Location information containing the
Name, Section of Burial, Row, Grave number, Lot number and date of internment
- Picture of the grave marker if there is one
The Printable Burial Record will serve as your Ticket for entrance to the Cemetery
during the opening day period. This ticket should be brought with you when you visit
the Cemetery in order to be admitted onto the bus that will bring you into the Cemetery.
See the next tabs on Cemetery Reopening Information and Planning your Visit for
additional information.
